Conversation by Design: At the Intersection of Fine Art and Architecture

Friday April 11, 11:30am

Nasher Sculpture Center, 2001 Flora St, Dallas, TX, 75201
Dallas Art Fair x Overland
For nearly 40 years, internationally renowned, Texas-based architecture firm, Overland, and its team of architects and designers have been engaged in projects that deeply integrate fine art — from residences and stadiums designed to house world-class collections to collaborations with some of the world’s most noted contemporary artists.

Moderated by Adrian Madlener, Conversation by Design: At the Intersection of Fine Art and Architecture will feature an engaging dialogue between Overland senior principal architects Rick Archer, Tim Blonkvist and Bryan Trubey, as well as art advisor Temple Shipley. The group will discuss Overland’s past work — including the Ellsworth Kelly Chapel and James Turrell Skyspace projects at the University of Texas at Austin and the Stoffel Residence in Dallas Texas, as well as Trubey’s work on AT&T Stadium while at a previous firm — and the ways in which the built environment and fine art go hand in hand.
