Komal Shah, one of the most influential collectors in North America and trustee of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, will join Katherine Brodbeck, the Dallas Museum of Art’s Hoffman Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, in a discussion of the importance of representation in museum and private collections. In 2023, Shah organized Making Their Mark, a traveling exhibition curated by Cecilia Alemani showcasing nearly 100 works from Shah’s growing collection dedicated exclusively to modern and contemporary works by women and femme artists and artists of color.
